Photographer's Note

This picture was taken in Snowdonia not far from the beginning of the PYG Track and the climb to the summit of Snowdon looking back towards Llanberis Pass. I was drawn by the contrast of light and shadow and the differences of colour and texture in the landscape.

looking through your fine gallery, i can see that there are a lot of beautiful landscape pictures, such as this one here.. like your, the good texture or sharpness, and of course this brillant clouds above that rock..

you certainly have a way with landscapes..they aren't my forte, but they are for you!
I agree with you, the contrasting lightness/darkness is appealing.
I also like the 2 seperate angles, dividing the frame in half.

I love the pattern of colour you have found for this shot, a place I remember well. Can you still get pint mugs of tea at the back of the youth hostel, I wonder ?! Your photos have encouraged me to revisit this area, though Not til Autumn. rgds
