Photographer's Note

Another view taken in Stowe Gardens.

Tempting as all the architectural detail maybe, it is easy to overlook the simple pleasures of the landscape in this magnificent garden.

Designed by 'Capability' Brown the gardens are thought of as 'some of the finest examples of landscape gardening in the eighteenth century' and 'one of the most remarkable creations of Georgian England'.

Praise indeed !

This view is of a typically serpentine path, alongside the Eleven Acre Lake, just below 'The Cascade', the outfall of the Octagon Lake.
