Photographer's Note

Countryside close to Barony Castle, Eddleston, Scottish Borders.

I was inspired to post this image by a couple of recent postings by Bev (Royaldevon) here and John (Tyro) here, who were also on this TE visit last year. Their photographs were taken within a couple of hundred yards of this location (John's image of the avenue of trees was shot within the line of trees you see here in the middle distance), but no-one else vaulted the five-bar gate into the nearby field. I'm glad I did, as I managed several OK shots, this being one of them.

The day's weather was unreliable, putting it politely, but you can see here (and in Bev's and John's photographs) some glimpses of sunshine. But I like cloudy weather: often the skies are more interesting. The hills in the distance are, I believe, Milky Law and Dundreich.
