The Dead Neither Hear nor See, a photo from Devon, England

Photographer's Note

The lichen covers the tombstones, a robin alights on the tip of one. In the green fields the newly born lambs call to their mothers, the gentle songbirds fill the sky,trees and hedges with their sweet song. In the ancient cemetery adjoining the church the dead have been asleep for centuries. An elegiac scene from England as Spring awakens.

Workshop has the little red robin mentioned above, obviously not taken from where I took the main photo.

Hello Klaudio,
It's a fine photo of what could be regarded as a typical English countryside view, too often associated with cosy crimes. The cemetery doesn't really provide "nice" details, but there is certainly a lot to watch inside the wall and outside, in the field. The background of fields, hedges, trees and a road provides a fine backdrop to the view of the tiny village.

It looks like a ghost city (we can say it really is, right?), surrounded by so much green and these interesting shaped tress! Excellent framing, and this foreground helps giving very good depth to this beautiful composition! Very well done!

Bonjour Klaudio,

Très belle plongée vers cette église et son cimetière bien garni. J'aime aussi les nombreux moulins qui semblent apprécier leur vert pâturage. La lumière est exceptionnelle.

Thanks to your photographs from England, now I know how typical English landscapes look like. Typical English weather are seen in them too. This picture, where the foreground and a part of the background are sunlit, seems to me as the most cheerful despite cemeteries present in it. An excellent composition, very right moment of capturing, a lot of interesting details, good management of light and colors, as well as the highest quality. Perfectly well done!

amo molto questi paesaggi, seguo anche film girati nelle campagne inglesi per godermi il panorama.
Molto bella questa foto, la lontananza ha tolto un po' di nitidezza all'immagine, ma questo è stato positivo, mi piace avere questa morbidezza unita a questo paesaggio.

It's a very nice and peaceful landscape, with the sheep around the old cemetery and I like the light and shadows given by the clouds. It's surely a wonderful view and the high pov is just great!
You even got a very nice shot of the little bird :)!
