Photographer's Note

I continue trawling through my archives with a series of pictures this time from the small town of Southwold in Suffolk, United Kingdom.

Some words about the town from Wikipedia:

Southwold is a small town on the English North Sea coast in the Waveney district of Suffolk. It lies at the mouth of the River Blyth within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town is about 11 miles (18 km) south of Lowestoft, 29 miles (47 kilometres) north-east of Ipswich and 97 miles (156 kilometres). The "All Usual Residents" 2011 Census figure gives a total of 1,098 persons for the town.

Southwold was mentioned in Domesday Book (1086) as a fishing port, and after the "capricious River Blyth withdrew from Dunwich in 1328, bringing trade to Southwold in the 15th century", it received its town charter from Henry VII in 1489. Over the following centuries, however, a shingle bar built up across the harbour mouth, preventing the town from becoming a major Early Modern port.

Brian loved such beach huts. Beautiful row of these cozy tiny houses. If I remember well, they are VERY expensive.
I saw similar huts also in Australia. Charming composition.

Ces cabines de bain bénéficient d'un intérêt manifeste, particulièrement quand elles possèdent un petit porche et que chaque cabine dispose d'une décoration particulière.

Hi Steph,there isn't the full light of sun to bright the colors,but this isn't a problem for you as i can see. The pic is still excellent,a lovely diagonal perspective showing us the beach huts in a great sharpness,i like it! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

A nice diagonal composition of these colourful and neat beach huts. I suppose each one is permanently used by the same family, and they all seem to be lovingly maintained as a "home away from home".

PS regarding your question I use a Nikon scanner called "Coolscan V" (V=5). I think it is no longer on the market but maybe there are updated versions. I bought it because it was supposed to be compatible with my Mac computer. That turned out to be not quite right, so after a lot of problems the Nikon support recommended me to download a scanning program called VueScan, which seemed to suit any kind of computer. It's easily installed and not very expensive and I never had any problems with it.

These multi-coloured typical British beach huts are always great photogenic objects. You can photograph the endless repletion from many sides for interesting pictures. I like your choice.

J'aime beaucoup cette composition. Tu as bien mis ces cabanes de plages sous forme de ligne de fuite. Les couleurs et les textures ressortent très bien sous ce contre jour.
