This is my first night shot from the well decorated London.
Taken with hand held camera.

Her Majesty's Theatre

Her Majesty's Theatre is a West End theatre situated on Haymarket in the City of Westminster, London. The present building was designed by Charles J. Phipps and was constructed in 1897 for actor-manager Herbert Beerbohm Tree, who established the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art at the theatre. In the early decades of the 20th century, Tree produced spectacular productions of Shakespeare and other classical works, and the theatre hosted premieres by major playwrights such as George Bernard Shaw, J. M. Synge, Noël Coward and J. B. Priestley. Since the First World War, the wide stage has made the theatre suitable for large-scale musical productions, and the theatre has specialised in hosting musicals. The theatre has been home to record-setting musical theatre runs, notably the First World War sensation Chu Chin Chow and the current production, Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, which has played continuously at Her Majesty's since 1986.

Hello Danos,

This was not an easy photograph, being taken at night (presumably without a tripod) and across a busy road, yet you have captured an excellent shot of the theatre and its highly illuminated facade. You have captured the exciting atmosphere of a night at the theatre!

from reading your note I would say its a must for anyone to see a show here! I wonder how it's interior looks.
It has a proud and stately exterior, the distortion is hard to eliminate bc of the buildings size and thats ok. excellent exposure settings, and also bc its taken hand held. cheers

The subject is well framed. The point of view is showing the details of Her Majesty Theater. Using probably a support and a slow shutter speed has a special effect on the colors. Happy New Year 2018.

I know this place and this theater, I've been past it in my two visits in London.
But I always have seen it under the daylight, and your night shot have caught my attention immediately.
Is a great night shot, perfectly managed, in a perfect visual angle which allows us to enjoy its whole architectural beauty, with a very elegant lighting.

there are so many things to see in a town like london... I didn't see this building I guess. nice this nocturne view with the shapes of its architecture in evidence.
