Photographer's Note
After Achnasheen, we drove further west and we took the A890 road to Strathcarron. Then up the A896 to Tornapress and starting there for a great a tour around the Applecross peninsula.
But then it looked like the Bealach Beag had got the same idea on Sat 12th May 2018...
The Bealach is the UK’s biggest road climb with an ascent of 626m from sea level in just 10km. It is set in a fabulous unspoilt landscape with outstanding views of the sea and hills. The Applecross Peninsula is renowned as a gem in Scotland’s crown of natural wonders. The idea of a sportive belongs to local cycling legend Clifford Davidson.
The Bealach Mor retains the original route of 144km and the Bealach Beag introduced a shorter distance of 72kms.

Salut Viviane,
Un bon effet de perspective avec la vue de la route et aussi de dynamisme avec ces cyclisets, joli décor avec ce paysage ensoleillé.

Hello dear Viviane,
I've driven that old road from Tornapress to Applecross a few times myself and it's a spectacular route too! Of course, you wouldn't have taken your caravan across that road - it's far too steep and the corners are far too tight.
The cyclists must be tough to travel this road but they certainly add a lot of interest to your lovely photograph, helping to guide the eye along the road towards the distant mountains. And what a fabulous sky!
Lovely light and colours and excellent details and clarity.
Beautiful!
Kindest Regards,
John.

Bonjour Viviane
Great shot from the road. Perfect timing as well. There's even something nostalgic to it, though I find it hard to really put the finger on it. Maybe it's the shirts of the riders.

Goedenavond Viviane,
Mooi foto werk, bedankt.
Goedeavond verder,
John
