Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

I really do enjoy Christmas: the family togetherness, the traditions, the songs and hymns, the decorations.

I was really impressed with the decorations in Liverpool. The wet evening meant that the pavements reflected the decorations and we got a double dose of all the colourful illuminations.
The tree, seen on the right, was constantly changing colours. It was also a drop in bar/cafe for thirsty shoppers.

I will add a different view of the city's illuminations as a workshop here.

There are some aspects of Christmas that have become too commercial and stressful but I would like to share a couple of events from our village which are far more important than any commercialism.
Firstly a neighbour, who usually has 16 family members for Christmas, had 5 cancellations (members going to visit further afield) so she offered the seats to anyone who would be alone on Christmas Day.
Secondly, the Community Centre was booked and decorated, a chef was booked, volunteers supported the event and all the old people in the village were treated to an exceptional Christmas Meal, with entertainment. They are still talking about it, with a twinkle in their eyes!

This is the real Christmas spirit!

May I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and if you are not a Christian may I wish you a very Happy Day, Bev :-)
