Photographer's Note

From Derry, I made a trip by train. First, I went to Castlerock. I wanted to see the small Mussenden Temple. I have seen many photos of it, on TE and on the Internet, and I wanted to hike a bit along the cliff. But it appeared that I was not well prepared.
From the train station, I went first to the beautiful wide beach with the dunes like on the Baltic coast. Then I saw the path high along the cliffs. I went by this path, seeing the temple but when I came closer, to my surprise I saw the deep ravine that I had no idea it existed there. You can see in the picture, that the trains go through the tunnel under the cliff.
I decided to go round the ravine. The path was soon gone and I had to go through the bushes. I didn't mind, I had to see the temple. After that, I came to the road and there was an entrance to the National Trust area. One need a ticket to go but they could be obtained online only. Again, I was not prepared for it. But when the guard saw a helpless old woman with a backpack, sad that she can't see the temple, he had pity and allowed me to go farther :).
I went close to the temple, it is very small but looks romantic and the view of the cliffs and the sea is fantastic. Nearby there are the ruins of the Downhill castle (I went there too and I could show if you would be interested). Look how I was lucky with the weather!
