Good Morning Everyone,

This is a peacock butterfly happily feeding on the sedum.

In early autumn, when these flowers open, we usually have a continuous stream of peacock butterflies, red admirals and painted ladies but the weather has been so wet we have seen hardly any butterflies this autumn.
I wonder if it has been like that in other places!

Peacock butterflies can be easily recognised by beautiful purple eyespots on the hind wings. When looked from up-side down, this pattern on the wings is thought to resemble the face of an owl.
