Photographer's Note
Another shot from my archive and Dartmouth.
A closer view of buildings known as the Butterwalk.
Note the stone pillars holding up the upper part of the building.
These were merchants houses dating from the first half of the 17th century.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Jean, today something different from this village, a leap into the past with historic houses, which show the signs of time and some traces of failure, which however are also signs of their particular beauty. A very sharp close-up view despite the dark light. Have a good night and thanks,Luciano

Hello Jean,
A beautiful close-up of this charming half-timbered façade, which still looks in excellent condition. The small windows look good as well and add some fine reflections. The stone pillars are also well included.

Good morning Jean,
The 17th century building has two different styles comb8ined: the old pillars which holds beautiful facade.
I was looking about the Butterwalk area on Google-Map and found this specific house on #12 Duke st. at 50.352, -3.5787 on the map, than took a virtual tour around. Wonderful and elegant English styled surrounding near the marina and Royal Avenue Gardens.
A marvelous place.
My best regards,
Ike

Hello Jean
I like the little prancing horse figures carved into the support beams. Not much colour but good tonal range and graphism. Tfs!

Hello Jean,
Looking closely at an enlarged version I see lots of beautiful wood carvings on the upper parts of the building. The stone pillars seem very unusual in this context, like two completely different architectural styles have merged. It's an original and interesting photo.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Jean,
It is clear that work has been done to decorate this facade:
First of all, the capitals of the columns, but also the many carvings in the wood around the windows and also further along and higher up the facade.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Jean
A good one of this old timber framed building. I always love the way you see lots of distortion of the timber.
cheers

Hi Jean,
amazing old architecture. The uneven lines are so apparent which makes the structure so vivibly old and eye catching at least for me. The light could be probably slightly better with some sunshine on the facade but too often we don't have it.
Very interesting structure, well presented.
Let's hope we get a better weather for the long weekend..
