Elvis Supports Ukraine, a photo from Lancashire, England

Photographer's Note

Good Morning Everyone,

This photograph was taken with my phone in a setting where the light was challenging (so I don't expect points) but I wanted to post it to show how united we are against the atrocities that are happening in Ukraine.

We had an evening in our village where Elvis (well he was a good look-alike and had a great voice) entertained us. There was a raffle, prizes donated by villagers. All the money generated is being used to support the Red Cross in Poland, which is doing an amazing job helping displaced Ukrainian refugees.

My heart goes out to this brave Ukrainian nation!

Hello Bev,
Since you didn't say that you don't want any points I will give this the usual green smiley because it deserves it. It's a photo full of life and colours, and in spite of the Ukrainian connection it takes my mind off the horrific current situation for at least a short moment.

Great shot from this original fun(d)raiser for what's happening in Ukraine. Good ol'Elvis even managed to sneak a reference to Ukranian flag in his attire. No photograhpical masterpiece, but it strikes a great chord here and I love it.

Glad to see Elvis is alive and well and living in Lancashire.

Despite the challenging lighting and the phone quality of the photo, it still manages to convey the mood of the Elvis performance very well. Also the colours are very appealing and eye-catching.

Hi Bev,two photos that bring a bit of joy by showing this unlikely Elvis double, but that make you think of the Ukrainian tragedy by reading your notes and understanding the reason for the performance. And it is certainly a valid and honorable reason, a fundraiser for the populations affected by the war, in short, everything is valid to feel close to their drama. Daylight saving must be over here until October when it starts again, as I as able to get in at 5:25 pm local time instead of 6:25. A good look and soundalike version of Elvis. And yes, he is wearing the Ukrainian colours of blue and gold. Tfs!

Hi Bev,
Fantastic way to support the cause. I would like to participate in an anti war demonstration or something but I don't even know how to check when and where they are organized. I suppose it is harder when I live in a countryside almost.
I will go to Poland in 3 weeks time, quite near to the Ukrainian border. Let's hope though the war will be over by that time, although I think people will not be able to return to their damaged houses so fast.

Hello Bev, Funny picture of this fake Elvis looking almost like a real. And thank you very much for the support of our action of the help for Ukraine. The needs are so huge. The Ukrainians and their President are so brave.
