Photographer's Note

This is another shot from my walk yesterday in the Eastern fells of the Lake District.

It shows the view towards the Western lakes, with three walkers on the snow, with the steep face of Helvellyn in between.

This place is only 1 hour from where I live, but it seems a whole world away. An alpine landscape in miniature. I have trekked and climbed in many of the alpine regions of the world but somehow the Lakeland fells with a winter coat are more magical. Days such as these are rare and only ever fleeting meaning the opportunity to experience them is ever more special.
