Photographer's Note
Iranian wedding ceremony..
We got there by accident - some young people we met the previous day invited us to the wedding of their neighbours.
The most important moment of the ceremony is when the bride and the bridegroom cross the blood of freshly sacrificed sheep.
In this case it was a double wedding - bridegrooms were brothers.

Quite an interesting image! The brides and the bridegrooms don't look particularly happy, which is not what I ususally associate with weddings. I also find it interesting how the brides are dressed-one more conservative , the other more western. Ialso like that you included the man with the knife. It puts the moment in context and shows how recent the slaughter was. Very well done!

so much of this photo is journal. It really strikes as a news shot from the '60's. The man's shoulder on the right detracts from your subjects. but still quaint.

Codzienne zycie, a w zasadzie niecodzienny moment. Dlaczego bez koloru. Mi sie podobalo w wersji barwnej. Ale i tak jak zawsze.
