One Peacock from the flock went a bit farther out on the meadow. Than an amazing thing happened: Within a minute after I taken this picture, 3 female-Peacock gathered around him – The courting method worked perfectly.
So, men: go and buy Peacock feathers - the Zoological books were right, and nature doe's have a system…

Where the peacock is positionned, it is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the peacock. The late afternoon light is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

That peacock sure knows how to strut his stuff! And it worked too! I bet all you men wish it was as easy for humans :) Lovely light on his tail and the colours are incandescent. I probably would have cropped the image more to concentrate more on him. Excellent work, thanks for sharing, your Note has made me laugh.

This is quite an original photo, as we normally see peacocks in more luxurious surroundings.

Une vraie beauté ce paon bleu avec sa robe ouverte, magnifique prise en pleine nature
Quand j'étais enfant dans "mon" parc il y avait "Léon" il se promenai liberté , c'était magnifique, maintenant il y a un autre mais enfermé dans une volière, il n'est pas seul, mais pas de liberté tout cela a cause de personne sans pitié pour les animaux...

I like the way the Peacock blends into the landscape - our neighbour has Peacocks & as much as I admire the beauty of these birds they are very noisy... Excellent clarity & light.

Hello Ike,
Before one follows your recipe, one should stop to think what one would catch with peacock feathers - exactly, peacock hens! So unless you were hoping to have roast peacock for dinner, I would advise against it. Invest in a convertible Mercedes instead ;-)
From the thumbnail. I was guessing this was from a zoo. I have never seen a peacock in the wild, although I have seen free ranging ones in parks and palace gardens.

I loved your notes as well as the photograph!
So ... have you followed your advice and bought a peacock feather? Some people consider peacock feathers unlucky because they have an 'eye' on them but, this peacock didn't find them unlucky!!! What a show off!
It's a fine photograph of the bird. You were there just at the right moment when it spread its tail!

The peacock is fairly well camouflaged in this very green environment, so it could have been easy to overlook him. You were lucky to capture this show and even more lucky to see its effect on the females.
