Photographer's Note

Passing Sidyma, we had to walk for a very long time to reach a tiny village called Bel Mahallesi. In fact, the word mahalle means something like a quater or a neighborhood in Turkish. Anyway, it was beginning to get dark so we hastily searched and found a fountain and filled our water bottles. The next thing was to find a place to camp.

Many villagers invited us to their houses (in exchange of a small fee of course) but we prefered to spend the night in tents again. So when finally we decided to stop at this place, I could only find enough time to capture the last rays of the Sun.

Here again you see the terraces that accompanied us throughout our journey (see this picture). The dotlike building at the summit is a watchpoint against the forest fires.

Half an hour after this shot, we were sound asleep...
