While I am still simmering at the deactivation of my yesterday's post for some trumped-up charges, I will post a picture on the lighter side today.

This photo was taken from the table where we were having lunch in Assos in August 1996. More information on Assos may be found in the note for my photo entitled Assos Harbor. In fact, this photo depicts what it looked like under the canopy in front of the building on the right 15 years prior to taking Assos Harbor. These days, the street in front of those buildings is closed to motor traffic but back in 1996 it was not so. So you could see a Murat 131 like the one in this photo driving through two rows of tables of the restaurant. My wife and I called it the "Turkish drive-through."

Bu fotoğraf Ağustos 1996’da Assos’ta öğle yemeği yediğimiz masadan alınmıştır. Assos hakkında daha fazla bilgi Assos Limanı başlıklı fotoğrafımın notunda bulunabilir. Aslında bu fotoğraf Assos Limanı’nın çekildiğinden 15 yıl önce sağdaki binanın önündeki gölgeliğin altının neye benzediğini gösteriyor. Bu günlerde, bu binaların önündeki sokak motorlu trafiğe kapalıdır ama 1996 yılında böyle değildi. Yani, restoranın iki masa sırasının arasından bu fotoğraftaki gibi geçen bir Murat 131 görebilirdiniz. Eşim ve ben buna "Türk drive-through" dedik.

PS. "Drive-through" teriminin Türkçesini bilen varsa bana söyleyebilir mi? Ben Türkiye’de yaşarken daha McDonald’s, Burger King falan yoktu onun için “drive through“ kavramını bilmezdik.
