Photographer's Note
An early morning shot at 1800 m altitude on the Lycian coast of Turkey. Nikon 16-85 mm DX lens creates very good sun stars due to its straight bladed diaphragm. You need to close down the aperture to achieve this effect. However, this will create ghosting and flare in the photograph. Here the flare is eliminated by keeping the sun just behind the tree, but the ghosting can be observed across the mountain in the background. Some professional lenses can partially eliminate that as well.
