Photographer's Note
Beylerbeyi Palace is on the Asian side of the Boshorus, across Ortaköy. It was commissioned by Sultan Abdülaziz (1830–1876) and built between 1861 and 1865 as a summer residence and a place to entertain visiting heads of state. It takes its name from the name of the neighborhood. The word beylerbeyi literally means "the Commander of Commanders" or "the Lord of Lords“ in Turkish. The Ottomans used this title from the late 14th until the mid-19th century, with varying meanings and degrees of importance. Initially designating a commander-in-chief, it eventually came to be held by senior provincial governors. The neighborhood got its name when the Anatolian Beylerbeyi of Sultan Murat III had his residence built here. Prior to that, it was known as Istavroz (from the Greek Stauros, Crucifix). Some of the wealthiest people in Turkey own homes in the Beylerbeyi neighborhood, including several members of the Sabancı family.

Hello Murat,
Yes it's safe to swim in Van Lake. It's not as salty as the Dead Sea. I like the warm cold color contrast between the fg tan building and the blue sea. Excellent sharpness too. Tfs!

Hello Murat,
A gigantic palace beautifully built on the banks of the Bosphorus!
The presentation from on the water is very attractive with the steep hill behind the palace where many other buildings can be found surrounded by greenery.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Murat
Beautiful classy palace by the water front and interesting architecture amidst the lush foliage and deep blue water with just enough backdrop detail to grab the eye. It's smartly framed and well coped exposure. Excellent background information as usual.
Congrats
Best wishes
