The saying is" "The ocean giveth, the ocean taketh"...
Well in the giving there are times when the ocean has little helpers. Along the Nova Scotian shorelines of the Atlantic Ocean, it is not at all uncommon to find objects that don't exactly have an oceanic origin. Fishermen's debris is part of that "collection"...
Here we have a barrel that "got away" from the fishing boat it used to be on...
The high tide pushed it up the Halloran Creek where it meets the Atlantic, in the North East corner of the Sambro Harbour.
Shot taken mid-afternoon with late light. Scaled (1/3) and cropped to fit TE.
