Photographer's Note
Look closely...
The was taken in Yorkville, a very ritzy expensive part of the city where luxury expensive stores are located. Every weekend, many nice cars park on the street but also, as in this case, many nice cars WITH handicap parking permits. Yes, the handicap are not always worse off than you. Not only do they drive nice cars, but they get the better parking space right by the door too! There's also a plight of counterfit handicap parking permits in the City. So if these are counterfit, you have to ask yourself, what kind of person who already has a good life with a super nice (not just very nice) car feels a need to get such a permit? If it is real, should they cut us regular "deprived" folks some slack? And really, how practical is such a car for the handicap? "i need to get to the doctors faster" or "it's lower to the ground so i can easily crawl in".
Hence the debate... to be healthy and drive a ford, or to be handicap and drive this? Or a Rolls Royce, or some other super exotics that you can regularily see with such stickers in Yorkville?

Hi kenny,
I believe what you describe here is just another example of favoritism.
I also believe that not everyone who has these handicapped stickers displayed deserves this perceived benefit we owe them. In my personal experience I have found that the large majority of handicapped people do not desire special treatment. Example: I have a friend in a wheel chair I offered help, he said no thanks, I can do it myself. He whipped his wheelchair from the car alone, and climbed into it. They want to be treated the same as you and I, although because they are viewed differently by most, the pity factor takes over, and opens the channel for precisely this type of abuse. My friend told me he would not be seen parking in one of those "special" parking spaces.
I think these abuses are far and wide spread, perhaps it's time to start ignoring the people who make up these stupid "so called" rules and laws altogether?
Here's to a job well done.
peace,
haans :)
