Photographer's Note

Beside the St. Joseph's Oratory, near the chapel where the miraculous healing first occurred, stands this sculpture of Brother Andre Bessette (1845 – 1937), who was sainted in 1210 by Pope Benedict. It is the work of renown Canadian sculptor Émile Brunet (1893 – 1977). The sculpture reflects a the humility and kindness of a man who in his lifetime helped thousands of distressed people, and even today his reputation for holiness is an inspiration to many people of any religion.
