1976 Olympics

Now with the 2020 Olympics having been underway for almost a week, I think it is a suitable moment to show something I haven’t shown before either. Our last morning in Montreal in 2015, just before we drove to Ottawa, we visited the Olympic Park (Parque Olympique), which was used for the 1976 Summer Olympics. This photo shows a part of the Olympic Stadium with the Montreal Tower (Tour de Montréal), the tallest inclined tower in the world (175m). However, the tower wasn’t complete in time for the Olympics and first opened in 1987. The tower can be accessed by an inclined elevator, which can be seen in the photo as well.
