The colors of the castle, a photo from Quebec, Central

Photographer's Note

The winter carnival ended last sunday. This is the ice castle that is built every year for the carnival.

As you can see in this montage, there is a lighting system that makes the ice change colors every two minutes. Since I could not decide witch one to show, I decided to present almost all the different shades. One the bottom left side you can see the setup that makes these nice colors.

If you take a moment to look at the workshop, you will see that I was not the only photographer there that night... Enjoy.

En bleu il semble mystérieux presque inquiétant, en jaune bizarement je le trouve froid - c'est un jaune citron, en pourpre je le trouve vraiment trop 'dessin animé', c'est en orange que je le préfère. C'est là qu'il semble le plus habitable.

Very nice idea with the quadruple presentation of the ice castle, Paul. All four photos are good in their own right, colorful and detailed. Easy to understand the photographic appeal of this structure, thanks for adding the fun WS.

Bonjour Paul,
Tres bonne idee d'avoir assemble ces 4 photos, ces creations de glace sont vraiment superbes et la belle mise en lumiere avec ces magnifiques couleurs leur donne un superbe aspect feerique. 4 belles photos, on attend celles des autres photographes, ce ne serait qu'une demi-surprise, la communaute Quebecoise est plutot bien representee ici !

Oh a fine and coloursfull mix you created for us here - thanks for giving us the details how its done - I seen some like this in Tivoli (Copenhagen, Denmark) but diden't get this kind of shots - thanks Paul - one for the theme.

C'est une excellente idée d'avoir réalisé un montage montrant les différentes couleurs que prenait ce château.
La partie n'était pas facile à voir la photo en atelier, il y avait de la concurrence.
Très originale présentation et très bonne maîtrise technique.

A very beautiful montage, Paul. The colours are excellent. I especially like the 'night vision' version in the top right. Very well presented. Great job.
