Photographer's Note

In this end of October, it is not very frequent for our rivers to take volume at this point. Last Saturday, it fell nearly 70 millimetre of rain in three hours. Several rivers of Quebec flooded, causing many damage. Fortunately, the area of Rivière-du-Loup was saved, the only effect was the impressive increase of the flow of the fall at one time when it is generally more modest.

No postpocessing here, only the ambiant lights.

Like your photo. It is dramatic. Well composed with good exposure to reveal all strength and motion of water.

I like it when pictures do not suffer too much postprocessing. Vice shot of the falls. The perspective and amount of light available gave a nice shot with decent details. The motion of the water looks very dramatic. Nice work Vincent :-)

Bonjour Vincent,

Très bien réussi comme photo nocturne. Le flou vaporeux de la chute même, fait même en sorte qu'on pense à une enveloppe de glace alors qu'il est ecore trop tôt en automne.

L'angle de visée est le bon mais avoir été à la place du photographe, j'aurais eu tendance à déplacer l'objectif de la caméra sur la droite de façon à capter et la chute et la centrale illuminée, quitte à sacrifier la falaise à gauche, à moins qu'elle ne te rappelle des souvenirs de jeunesse alors que les plus téméraires l'empruntaient à tout risques et périls.

Une belle photo de nuit, bien exposée malgré les conditions de lumière pas faciles. On peut également "ressentir" le haut débit de l'eau et sa puissance.
Je suis curieux de voir ce qu'un cadrage vertical aurait donné.

I missed this one during my travel in Quebec :-(. Good job with the poor light conditions. I like the composition made by the water flow, which appears faster at distance and slower when near.
