In our 2 weeks spent exploring the national parks of Alberta and British Colombia we didn't see a single bear despite plenty of warnings about them.
What we saw most of were Elks and in today's photo on the bottom left is a big male grazing near Jasper and on the bottom right is a female elk grazing in someone's front yard in Jasper - the females were wandering around all through residential areas.
On the top left is a Mule Deer that we saw beside Maligne Lake out from Jasper.
The cute little critter, top middle, is a Pika in Banff NP beside Consolation Lake. I had to take that photo on maximum zoom (250 mm) and then zoom further by cropping.
Finally, on the top right is another cute one - a Least Chipmunk having his dinner in Kootenay NP at Marble Canyon.
