Edith Cavell ice, a photo from Alberta, Prairies

Photographer's Note

Because of the avalange, there was a lot of piece of ice in the little lake under Mont Edith Cavell. You can see also the end of a Glacier.
By viewing this pic, we can imagine it was freezing. In fact, the temparature was about 15°C (60°F) and all the ice in this small lake were coming from the top of mount Edith Cavell.
In fact, I took some risks to take this pic. A piece of ice could fall on me if there was a big avalange!

Brrr, it's cold there. Like the green colour of the icewater, contrasting well with the background

It's quite possible to tell the cold from this shot. The pieces of ice floating in Cavell Pond are an interesting element of this well-lit image. I also like that in the very bottom of the frame, there is the hint of a reflection of Mount Edith Cavell and of a piece of sky. Good picture, Fred.

Beautiful colours. The pieces of ice in a water its like an icy cocktail. Combination of black rock and white ice its amazing. Nice shot Fred.

Il est vrai que la photographie nous oblige par moment de prendre certains risques mais soyons prudent quand même. Dans tout les cas votre photo est très jolie et vous nous avez fait en quelque cliché une belle visite du mont Edith Cavell merci de nous faire profiter de ces lieux que l'on ne cessera jamais de contempler.

Ne prenez pas trop de risques, Fred, on aimerait bien en voir encore beaucoup, de ces photos de montagne...
Les couleurs sont splendides, en avant et arrière plan. Et justement, je me demandais... si à la verticale, nous n'aurions pas eu un petit peu plus de montagnes et de ciel bleu ?
