Photographer's Note
I was walking over to the store and glanced over at the tree in my front yard. The tree branches had frosted in an interesting way making the branches look like they had thorns.

Hi Heather, great picture with very good use of DOF. Always interesting what nature can do.

A fine frost picture Heather. I like how the branches croos over like an X but I think you should crop the left part to concentrate.

I liked your simple capture of those "thorns" Heather...sometimes one doesn't have to go far to witness nature's creative masterpieces. In fact I must confess that seeing your posting yesterday inspired me bring along my camera on my morning walk to the barn to capture THIS scene which I often take for granted as simply "always being there".The magical appeal of ice seems to be universal as we have seen many such postings recently on TE which have added warm interpretations of these cold crystals :-)

Good idea to take a photo of these frosted thorns. I have cropped the photo down to just contain the thorn branches and added a touch of blue to the highlights, then used unsharp mask to creat a workshop.
