At the Athabasca glacier you can walk up to very near the end of the glacier. That part is quite low (tomorrow for a photo of the actual end).
Above the glacier and reminding me of the disaster in India a few days ago was what must be a side glacier that now ends on top of a cliff. It looks much more like the blue glacier ends that you see in fjords in Alaska and elsewhere where they end in water.
You aren't allowed to walk up to this ice cliff and you wouldn't want to stand under it as you can lots of cracks in the ice.
The photo was taken with maximum 250 mm zoom.
