Photographer's Note

This is my second and last post from Trout Lake which is located a few kilometers north of Harrison Hot Springs, B.C. I particularly liked the fall gold and green colors on the lily pads in the water in the foreground. The air was crisp but the day was bright - a perfect early fall day to visit this pristine little lake.

Hi, Gerald. As you say in your note, this is a nice piece of nature. The lake acts as a mirror to reflect the surrounding hills and trees. I like the inclusion of the water lilies in the foreground. They provide depth and an interesting diagonal that marks a clear division in your composition.

I think this image may need some mor elight. It's a nice view anyway and the good composition is very appealing. The lake seem peaceful. The colours seem fine, specially on the foreground. Nice work Gerald...I hope the info I sent you will be useful. Cheers.

Gerald,
seeing your three latest posts it is quite difficult to decide where to start with a critique. All three are very good landscape photography and finally I decided to write for this one here. The water palnts in the foreground placed in a diagonal pattern in the left corner gives a good anchor for the wideness of the image provided with the water and the mountains in the backdrop.

the shot of the lake is very good, It looks to me a carper lake. The pov is very nice and the details are good, the balance is very good. Personal I am not a fan of the green in the frame, but thats personal, farther good photo job, have a

You had lovely light here and you captured some stunning reflectons. The dying lily pads in the foreground are a good feature of the image as is the touch of autumn on the trees. well done

Hi Gerald,
I like those dark tones you have in all your landscapes, to bright may look unreal and here you let control the sunlight over the lake and do his own work, i like that a lot.
The water lilys give you a nice depth and look great with the sun reflection on them.
The whole scenery looks very serene and peaceful, for sure a place i would like to visit...great location and photo..!!!

Hi Gerald. This is a very nice place judging on your picture. The horizontal balance works very good here, giving the lake more room and contrasting good against that attractive background. I like how you also included the lilies in the foreground.

The fall colors have started to show up in Canada, in Turkey, they are in full bloom only at the end of Octover.
Here is a lovely one of the trout lake. Good idea to spread the water lillies in the foreground, and very good composition too. The success of such a picture depends on the light and the composition and both are A-1 here

Wow your photos due justice to the beautiful western Canada. This one beckons me to visit B.C. someday. Wonderful depth as we follow the lily pad arcorss the calm lake to the slight bend and the mangnificent mountain. Striking reflection comes from clear colors and excellent sharpness.
