Photographer's Note
I've been meaning to get this photo for a long long time. A few years at least. I was so happy with myself when i finally got it! haha
its one of those photo's you can now take off of your checklist!
To get this point of view you have to walk halfway accross the Granville Street Bridge. And trust me, its a scary walk as the sidewalk isn't very wide, and alot of big rigs and large buses come within a foot of knocking you over. Not to mention i don't like heights!
All i can say is...sigh! I finally got it in my collection!
mmmm...i wonder what this would look like in the Blue Hour? maybe i'll find out in another few years!
Have a great day everyone
Craig

Hello Craig,
I can understand your accomplishment by taking this photo. I recently had the same feeling after walking across the Brooklyn Bridge for the first time. It had been on my to-do list forever!! The POV here is wonderful, and so is the blue sky. I like the view of the marina, and the small green space behind it. Are those apartment buildings or offices? That would be a great spot to live!

Hi Craig,
From this high vantage point, the marina is a graceful curve of shapes rather a thicket of masts; it complements the curve of the building. The beautiful noise free clarity just leaps off the screen. and the color is fantastic!!
I do think this was well worth the walk, although I'm not big on heights either and that is a very busy bridge.

Hello Craig, Well good for you that you managed to get this shot. And good for we viewers to see this lovely sight. Very impressive. The tall skyscrapers and the boat harbor in the foreground display excellent composition. It has all the visual ingredients to make a great picture. Enjoy the week. Regards. Roger

Hi Craig
Great shot from this POV and good for you for facing your fears. That bridge is not that pedestrian friendly. It would be nice to see the blue hour version but I remember doing some night photos from the Cambie St bridge and the shake from the vehicles made it very difficult to shoot longer exposures.

Hi Craig, the things we risk for a great shot. So I thank you for putting your safety on the line for this wonderful photo and hope you take care when making a comeback for the Blue Hour. Excellent Depth, saturation and contrast. I can;t tell from the Photo Info, but it looks like you used a CPL filter? Either way, the exposition is superb. TFS and I wish you a lovely evening, Lisa

Hello Craig,
This is a story of great bravery and achievement! Well done! I am sure that blue hour option will bug you enough to make you get out there soon! How about doing the early morning blue hour, surely the traffic will not be as heavy? (And if you get out there in the dark, you won't even see the depth beneath your feet;-) )
I love the horizontal symmetry created by the buldings and the boats in the marina. The POV and composition of the shot are excellent, as is the light and the colours.
TFS and warm greetings from Prague,
Dasha

Hi Craig,
The masts of the boats have a graphical effect. The point of view is taking my eyes toward the highrise buildings which is giving depth to the composition. The afternoon light is bringing out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.
