Au Québec, la première fleur sauvage visible, après la saison hivernale, est la Tussilago farfara. Elle s'épanouit au premier soleil du printemps et se confond assez bien avec le pissenlit. C'est une plante très vantée chez les anciens dont Hippocrate. On croyait que la fumée apaisait la toux lors d'infections pulmonaires. Cet usage très ancien se retrouve encore en Suède.

In Quebec, the first visible wild flower, after the winter season, is the Tussilago farfara. It comes out with the first sun of spring and really looks like the dandelion. This plant was very praised by the old ones (Hippocrate). They believed that the smoke was a cough relief when lungs infection. This use is still in Sweden.

outstanding DOF captures the flower perfectly in a softly focused environment. The note adds great strength and interest to the presentation. I'd never heard of this flower and its uses before.

Salut Denis,
Ça fait du bien de voir apparaître les premières fleurs du printemps, chez-nous dans le Bas-St-Laurent, c,est un peu plus tard. Très jolies les couleurs et beau contraste avec la tige. Pour ma part, je ne sais pas si le modérateur de TE à une dent contre moi, les photos que je publie comme celle-là me sont retirées. C'est si beau des fleurs.

Great close up work. The main subject is tack sharp against a blurred BG as well as being counter balanced by the other out of focus flowers.

La prise de vue rapprochée permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de la tussilago farfara. Le sujet est bien cadré. La lumière de l' après-midi a un bel effet sur les couleurs. Bonne soirée.

Hi Denis,
The dandilion copycat looks very impressive against the muted blue sky backdrop.
The details to the little yellow lovely are outstanding making this a first rate macro and beautiful sign of the gentler season.

I see that the seasonal changes in the nature in Canada are almost the same as in Ukraine. Our first spring flower also is Coltsfoot, which in Russian is called as Mat-and-Macheha (Mather-and-Stepmother, because one side of each its leaf is soft while another is harsh) or Kashlegon (Cough-Healer). You have captured these nice flowers with the perfect composition and top quality. Great job!

So the coltsfoot is the first in your place too, like over here!
This is a fine macro in vivid colours, DoF isolates the subject nicely from the background...
The low point of view almost makes the flower appear like a bright sun in the sky..!

I like it very much although I believe you may have some trouble because of that: quite often they delete photos of flowers here.
Excellent presentation of this bright yellow flower. Very attractive play with the depth of the field. Although unsharp the background is clear enough to see the natural enivironment.
