Two Victoria Harbour Ferries at Fishermen's Wharf. These cute little boats are an icon of Victoria Harbour and have been described as 'sweet little pickle boats'. They are so manoeuvrable that every Sunday morning from May to September five of them perform 'The Harbour Ferry Ballet'. They began 'dancing' 20 years ago and now the ‘dance steps’ have become quite complex employing a professional ballet choreographer. There a few military marching manoeuvres, a few Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride manoeuvres and they have 'danced' to the Blue Danube Waltz more than 350 times.

I like very much the atmosphere created by the dark sky which contrasts so well with the bright colour tones. The reflections, the oily texture of the water are just great!

Hello Marlene,
You've come up with a very surprising note this time about something I had no idea about. I'm learning about the world thorugh notes. The picture is attractive and a bit bewildering. The houses make me think of Scandinavia whereas the boats probably could be from anywhere. I actually get reminiscences of the Hong Kong archipelago. I like the cloudy sky and actually think it has improved the colours.

it's almost unbelievable that somewhere there exist such picturesque bright colours and views! yes, thanks to the little boats :)
Interesting Note and photo! I also like very much the reflection in the slightly rippled water.
Concerning the composition, maybe I'd crop a bit of the left side of the picture - to better emphasize the boats :)
