Photographer's Note
Beside the St. Joseph's Oratory, near the chapel where the miraculous healing first occurred, stands this sculpture of Brother Andre Bessette (1845 – 1937), who was sainted in 1210 by Pope Benedict. It is the work of renown Canadian sculptor Émile Brunet (1893 – 1977). The sculpture reflects a the humility and kindness of a man who in his lifetime helped thousands of distressed people, and even today his reputation for holiness is an inspiration to many people of any religion.

Hi Barnabas
Thanks for the interesting note, I had not heard of this man or his deeds. Is a very kind image in the statue and the sculptor has really caught that in the work. You chose beautiful lighting to shoot under too. I like that the statue has fresh flowers in his hands too, I found the same at the statue of St Patrick at Slane in meath. Thanks for an interesting post
Cheers
Noel
