As some of you know, I love ice. So many fun sports and activities are done on ice like climbing, sculpturing and skating. But sometimes ice is a destructive force.

Third and last image of this small series on ice. Here you can see ice breaking up on the St-Lawrence seaway.

TRès belle image presque aérienne qui donne le gigantisme du navire, mais aussi sa fragilité devant le pouvoir de la glace. J'aime bien le cadrage et la perspective.

Nice view from above in this image!
Good compo with all those vertical lines,-you did right to put it into a vertical frame.
The broken ice on the water gives a good graphical effect.Also beautiful colors and contrasts in this picture.

Superbe photo du Saunière! Bravo! La glace ccassée donne un effet vraiment spécial. Content de voir que l'on peut quand même prendre des photos sur le pont malgré les nouvelles clôtures anti-suicide installées dernièrement. Super!

Combien de verres de whisky on the rocks peuvent-être remplis avec ces glaçons ?
Il me semble que le printemps se manifeste mais assez lentement par chez toi.
Une bonne perspective qui agrémente parfaitement cette composition.

Hi Paul. Wow, what an angle you got here - the view from above is quite impressive, and also allows for a nice way to amplify the graphical quality of the floating pieces of ice. It's also a nice deep perspective shot with a good palette of colors. Well done.

Hi Paul, It is amazing to see how much the ice can do. The pile of ice looks like a pile of rocks.
I like you POV, which enable us to see the entire area and the tough situation. Good contrast and nice details.

A superb pov, looking down on all the pancake ice. Excellent color & sharpness. I like the river, ship, & freeway all tightly bunched together. Good work!

but what a strong vertcal view you managed here,great perspective,for me the ice texture is amazing,and made your shot graphical,too.

Bonsoir Paul,
Très jolie saisie de cette glace brisée le long du quai. Belle profondeur et vue plongeante sur le bateau. Les containers donnent l'échelle du cargo.
J'espère découvrir le Québec dans pas longtemps ;-)

Vraiment intéressant cette image, j'aime comment tous ces morceaux de glace ressemblent à du verre brisé.. Les lignes convergentes du fleuve, du bateau et des rues et containers, font également une très bonne composition. Mais où étais-tu exactement pour avoir un tel point de vue ?

Beau point de vue Paul, est-ce que la photo fut prise du pont Jacques-Cartier ? Tout semble miniature au loin, très bon résultat, bine vu.

Beautiful image. Not only the POV is great, exploring a long sense of perspective, as well plays with the dimensions of things (the boat seems like a little object). The light and colors are fantastic and the low sun helped a lot by creating shades which help in the contrasts and definitions of shapes and volumes. And of course, I like the broken ice. Its geometrical shape and rough fits very well the industrial atmosphere.

A mon point de vue, il s'agit d'une de tes meilleurs shots. Plusieurs elements en font un succes. Le pattern de la glace est excellent et contraste avec les couleurs saturees des conteneurs. L'alignement des trains apportent beaucoup de perpestive. Bien vu.

Bonjour Paul,
Une image étonnante a plus d'un titre. La mosaïque de glace à gauche est vraiment très belle. J'aime la façon dont elle s'effiloche au loin. Le bateau à droite semble déposé sur la berge.

Très bien partagé et le résultat est fort, rouillé, glacé et le format accentue les impressions que l'on ressent en la regardant.
Si c'était un vin au lieu d'une photo, je dirais il a de la longueur en bouche..

Le cadrage et le point de vue font de cette photo une réussite.
Parmi toutes tes photos c'est l'une de mes préférés.
C'est vraiment impressionnant de voir la glace, on dirait des morceaux de mosaique.
