Photographer's Note
Salut le monde,
Enjoy this view of the downtown(centre-ville) Toronto from the top of the CN Tower. I have posted many photos from this fabulous place before, so I am not going to give you an overdose of the quick facts of the CN tower. Interested viewers can browse back my previous photos if they want to know more about CN Tower.
Anyways here are some very interesting Demographic Facts about TO (Toronto) that I copied from wikipedia.org
Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. In 2004, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) ranked Toronto second, behind Miami, in its "List of World Cities with the Largest Percentage of Foreign-born Population". Though ranking first, Miami's foreign-born population is mostly Hispanic, whereas Toronto's is significantly more diverse. Toronto also ranked ahead of Los Angeles, Vancouver, New York City, Singapore, and Sydney.
Toronto represents a multicultural mosaic. The 2001 Canadian census indicates 42.8% of Toronto's population being of a visible minority. In March 2005, Statistics Canada projected that the visible minority proportion will comprise a majority in both Toronto and Vancouver by 2012.
The majority still claim their origins from Britain. Significant populations of Portuguese, Jamaicans, Chinese, East Indians, Sri Lankans, Armenians, Filipinos and Italians,Vietnamese, Somalis, Poles, Trinidadians, Guyanese, Pakistanis, Greeks, Koreans, West Africans, Arab, and Latin Americans exist throughout the city. Areas like Koreatown, Chinatown, the India Bazaar or Little India, Little Jamaica, Portugal Village, Toronto and Corso Italia or Little Italy are examples of how large these cultural populations are.
In 2001, 18.8% of the Torontonians had no religious affiliation.
While English is the predominant language (51.8%) spoken by Torontonians, Statistics Canada reports that other language groups are significant, including Chinese, Portugese, Tamil, Spanish, Punjabi and Italian. Only 1.4% of city residents claim French (Canada's other official language) as their mother tongue.

Hi,
Nightscapes like this are difficult. Yours is nice and bright and sharp. That overly bright light top right is a bit of a distraction. Perhaps consider PS-ing it out.

Hi Sarju
It's just simple awesome. The lights, million of lights. lighting up the dark space, creating such space-like feeling.
From the exposure value, you can have a better effects which may produces the lights with better clarity is to have the aperture valued at f/13.0 and above and reduces the speed to the minimum. By this shot, the lights will turn sparkling in star-shaped.
What an image.
Good shot, Sarju.

Hi Sarju
Impressive view of Toronto with all the city lights that stretch out into the horizon. I like your pov and framing. The long exposure has givin some "smudges" which are a pity. Did you use a tripod ? In addition it's hard to avoid some reflection which can be noticed in the sky. When we were up the Rialto tower in Melbourne, I held Toni's coat behind his head and camera while he was taking the shots to avoid such reflection.

Hi Sarju,
There are a few minor drawbacks as mentionned but they do no prevent to enjoy this superb view, the concentration of lights on these buildings is incredibly rich and I like too the triangle layout building a progression from both sides up to the main building with the red lamps. Superb view Sarju !
Have a nice day,

Hi Sarju,
Spectacular night shot over the downtown of Toronto. I love the synphony of lights on all those paralelipipeds of steel and glass and the way they spread with such intensity to the line of the horizon. How much energy is in there?!
Despites the small details noticed by Nikki (one point in such a good shot like this one allways attract my attention...), which I wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't him, the result is still very impressive (nice to read your technique - it would be interesting to read it in the note as well...). The POV seems to be very well chosen and I like to see the detail of the street in the right bottom corner. Very well balanced lighting and also nice to see the 'not black' sky. Congratulations for this fantastic image mate!

What an enticing and very graphically pleasing vast display of electric light, Sarju! It's fun to examine the patterns and theit interaction - the diagonal arrays of rectangular spots in the high rises in the front, the generous sprinkling of dots in the background, the lines of light formed by the streets....Great nocturnal urban graphism, I like this a lot!

The long view into the distance really adds a wonderful dimension to this shot. Many have commented and the points earned are well deserved. An excellent shot to say the least. Thanks for sharing Sarju. And I hope you get your good share of snow soon too!

full of life light energy and air - composition and lighting make it look so. Look like a bunch of strange plants. The only disadvantage is the bright spot on the right, but it is not too bad. I still want to hug this airy enormity.

Hi Sarju,
spectacular nightshot! Wonderful light sources. I could tell that half the pixels are dark and half just lights, all of them very well-distributed into the picture. Well done!
Regards,
Carlos

Incredible shot, Sarju. I have just seen it on the front page.
You have captured the city lights perfectly.
I especially like the 'domino' colours of the 7 or 8 buildings in the foreground.
Very well seen and framed.

Being a very much multicultural, Toronto had impressed my husband a lot when he traveled and stayed there a few weeks.
Night lights of Toronto look like jewelery :)
Very satisfactory note, thanks a lot!

Wonderful night picture. As others said, it is not easy to have a night picture with so many lights, so detailed and sharp. Excellent job!
