Photographer's Note

Another white water canoeing shot from the upper Riviere Rouge in Quebec, Canada. The canoe is being eased expertly into some challenging rapids which we don't see but can anticipate (the ones we can see look challenging enough! My challenge was to use my 10 times optical zoom (Olympus 730 UZ camera) to maximum advantage without too much shake - there's no way I could be using a tripod perched on the rock where I was. I fixed up the picture by sharpening it and trying to optimize the brightness of the sun on the water with the foreboding darkness of the canyon the canoers are entering. But I didn't want the canyon to be too dark. Have I got the right balance here? Suggestions welcome.
