Lake Louise, a photo from Alberta, Prairies

Photographer's Note

This is not the typical Lake Louise shot one usually sees because it is taken from a very low angle along the stream leading away from the lake. Lake Louise is an incredibly beautiful spot in Banff National Park and a tourist destination like few others. One of the major challenges if time is limited is to get a shot without people everywhere? The only touchup editing to this image was lightening it slightly.

Hello gerald,
Very nice mountain panorama. I particularly like the forground with stones and lake where the definition is perfect. Unfortunately I found the sky part not that nice, same thing for the mountains in the background due to a heavy blue dominant colour. Anyway the main popint is the lake and it is perfect.

Très jolie composition, les couleurs sont superbes!
Mais la saturation me semble un peu trop exagérée: on peut le constater sur les nuages, ça ne fait pas naturel.

I've got pretty much the same comment as the last two, the coloring is exaggerated. However, having visiteg Lake Louise several times I am surprised, because as you say, because of the many tourists I've never spend that much time at the lake. The composition is original and refreshing

This is a nice, refreshing view of Lake Louise. fraggance and urbancowboy must not have ever visited the lake - I know that the colours in the snap are very real. Nice job.

Hi Gerald:

This is a nice perspective. I've been to Lake Louise several times, but have never bothered to shoot from this perspective. I really like the shot, in spite of the granular background. Kudos for no people in the picture--that is a tough one at Louise. All around, I like it, and it is refreshing to see a new perspective to this beautiful lake.
