For me, this lake is absolutely the jewel of the Rockies. Not only the most spectacular of all the lakes we visited on this trip, but the most beautiful lake I have ever visited. I always thought that Milford Sound would take that title (even though not actually a lake!), but I have to say that Moraine Lake pips even there for its jaw dropping beauty.

Pure beauty. Great place but first of all captured at the right time from the excellent place. I like the light, colours and clarity. I only can't see the reason for f/22. maybe you needed longer exposure to have the reflection blurred a little...

There must be a secret behind this surface :

I agree that the camera is one of the very best ones and that f/22 and the tripod provide absolute sharpness but I do not think this is all. I do not think this is the whole secret of your pictures, of ALL of your pictures.
Besides the fact that you care a lot about what you put on this website-which would be nice to be a general phenomena, by the way-there is something else, something that makes every each of your pictures unique in it’s beauty.
I mean, Lake Moraine is there for everybody, right? It’s there, it has been and it will be for a very long time. Now, how many pictures taken there are somewhere close of yours (including mine’s:)?
No worry yet, I will figure it out, I will find your secret and I will tell it to everybody!:)…this will never happen…

Nice you mention a NZ-location. Because when I start reading you like this lake best, I thought of New Zealand, because I saw amazing landscapes there also. This is certainly a good point for me to visit Canada also sometime.

Well Adam, this is a truly magical shot, where all the elements come together and make something that is really breathtaking. The lighting is great, and the colour is always amazing at Moraine Lake, but the light dusting of snow is what really makes this different. Superb work!

Another great shot of Moraine Lake with this dusting of snow. It looks amazing and the colours are stunning. That little bit of sunshine on the mountain peaks makes it complete. Great composition with wonderful colours and quality! Excellent work, Adam!

So beautiful...it is surreal. The deep layers of blue and green and contrast with the white snow are superb...and that sunlight touching the tips of the mountains with the icefloes down the sides and ledges creating the patterns...unbelievable! I am soooo jealous. Great shot man.

Hello Adam. I see you keep scoring! :) This is one of the most beautiful photos I've ever seen from this lake. Composition and light are just perfect. It is funny that the reflection from the moutain top is lighter than the mountain it self, ND work, right? :)
