Photographer's Note

I live on Lake Erie, ( If you can't tell from the photos I post :o) These days there is more clouds then sun. We've had storm after storm, Wind, snow, wind, rain, wind, wind , wind! But on this day , the sun came out and oh its amazing how it just warms you up not just from the sun shining on you, but it warms your soul too. I just wanted to share some of my sunshine with you too.

Tomorow I pick up my Husband , hes laying up his Ship until the end of March, guess whos smiling now! :o)

This photo was taken in front of my house looking East Towards Peacock Point. Lake Erie is 57Miles across and 247 Miles long.

Donna,
a very wild and rough looking landscape. Curious, I cannot see form where the sun is coming. It seems that it must be behind some clouds and giving that impression of a quite diffuse light source. That is probably something good with all the snow that you got. It avoids any overexposure.

Hi Donna,
Another lovely, rugged scene from your "neighbourhood", and I know what you mean about the sun warming the soul......I experience that in Cape Town during winter. Nowadays, living in Dubai, the opposite is true....it's great when we get a sprinkling of rain which clears away the desert dust. I like the distant view and openess to this image, which is nicely bordered by the road running up the left side. Well captured.

Très beau paysage hivernal .Le point de vue sur ce lac donne une belle profondeurj'aime le contraste entre les couleurs froides et les herbes rousses .

The frame is skilfully composed, with the beach making the fine diagonal, leadin g my eyes to the beautiful clouds in the horizon...

What is missing from your photo is light, light light.
I also noticed that we had so few hours of sun since early december, that, like you I make do with what the sky gives us.

Where is all the snow we received so far?

Good compositionnal line taking our eyes away towards the clouds, closing up the view.

Hey Donna,

Composed fittingly, to tell you the truth I`m a bit tired of all the winter sceneries, but this one really makes a mark, a very nice ratio between the sky and the ground, with lovely cloud definition and colors. Lake Erie is a bit eerie in the winter. :>
