Ready Made Ice Chips, a photo from Ontario, Central

Photographer's Note

We went for a drive along the shore of Lake Erie the day after the storm that had passed . Beautiful day with the sun shinning, such a difference from the day before with the winds howling at 50knots and the waves building at 18 feet. The shore of the lake was covered with either these piles of ice chips or big huge 6 to 8 inch chunks of ice. They looked like a dump truck and come along and just piled them there.
It may not look like it, but they were over my head.( Okay I'm only 5' 2" but still they were over my head.:o)

The scene looks much more like a salt mine!!! It is amazing how the ice blocks can build up such hills. It is a very nice photo and I like that white line from the airplane crossing the sky. Well done.

Hey Donna,

What nature gives us. :) A fine reportage, nicely composed, with a lot of the details in the foreground, sharpness is done equally well, so is the balance of colors, perhaps it only lacks a bit of saturation or brightness (not sure). A fine photo.

Hi Donna,

A good capture of the leftovers of the storm which are framed by the beach and by the trees. The point of view is giving depth to the photo. It is clear and precise. have a nice day.

Another fine example of the dramatic forces of winter weather to be found along the banks of this massive lake. Very good details and sharpness to this rugged Canadian beach.

Hi Donna,
Must have been such a wild weather to pile these ice to shore. Could have been better if a person was standing in front of those ice piles in order to give some scale of dimension if you wanted to emphasize the height of these piles. But overall a good photo with informative notes. Well captured and presented. Well done! tfs

the storm would be a machine to crush the ice of the lake Erié? Indeed, and it makes heaps of them! Very well realized.

It is interesting to see the effect of the wind on a large lake when the ice is breaking up, amazing indeed...
A well composed documetary with fine details, giving a good impression of the result!

Hi Donna! Him I do not believe that what I see is lake! In the beginning I believed sand, then salt, and read it is chips ice. Good presentation good idea, you have one good week! greetings

An interesting phenomenon and it is a mystery how those ice chips got there.Composed with thought with the view along the lakes bank giving good depth. No feeling of the approaching spring in this one....TFS.
