Photographer's Note

Drumheller, Alberta bills itself as the dinosaur capital of the world (many fossils were and are found near here, and the local "Royal Tyrell Dinosaur Museum" is absolutely stunning), but there's a touristy kitsch side to it as well---the town is dotted with fiberglass dinos at every corner, many of, shall we say, "dubious"workmanship...

But they all bow down to the gigantic Tyrannosaurus Rex statue (if that's the word) which you can climb up into for a great panoramic view of the valley and the badlandsall around from it's gaping maw (!!)

This "The World's Largest Dinosaur" (ok they have a penchant for hyperbole here....must be something in the water lol!) looms over town (at four or five times lifesize --already nothing to sniff at!) and can be seen at the bottom of many local vistas, apparently on a rampage...too cool!
