Photographer's Note

I took this shot this evening, due to so much snow this winter, this beaver dam collapsed in the spring and all of the water had drained out. I haven't had much time to visit this pond yet this summer, but tonight I ventured into it to discover a great photo opportunity! The whole pond bed was covered in lush green grass that you would just want to roll in, the only downside was that there were knee-deep mudholes everywhere! I made the mistake of stepping into one of those... but anyways, I took my tripod along and set up on top of a fallen tree to get this composition. The tripod was set up on 3 branches.. it was rather difficult to keep balanced while setting up for the shot! I took 3 shots (using exposure bracketing) so that I could combine all three exposures to create a one well exposed shot. Then I simply adjusted the curves. I always capture my shots in RAW format, this came in handy tonight because I forgot my White Balance on Flourescent Light, and I was able to change it back to Auto in Digital Photo Professional, which gave me a much more desirable outcome. Hope you like it!
