Photographer's Note

Details of a colorful facade of small homes on Isla Mujeres, where the strong colors seem to be very popular with residents and tourists.
Isla Mujeres, the Island of Women, where time passes slowly and your dream vacation becomes a reality. Located just eight miles across the Bahia de Mujeres (Bay of Women) from Cancun, Isla Mujeres is only 5 miles long and half a mile wide at its widest point. The downtown area (Centro) of Isla is just four by six blocks. The average temperature is 80 degrees with 60% humidity and the hottest months are June thru September. Mapped at latitude North 21° 11' 5" and longitude West 86° 42' 50" Isla's terrain is flat with beaches on all sides.
Historically, Isla Mujeres is a fishing village and though it is now thoroughly discovered by tourists it still retains it's charm and tranquil atmosphere. As you stroll the streets in the evening you will see families gathered together in Caribbean styled homes, tucked between stores and restaurants, mending their fishing nets and relaxing.

Dettagli di una coloratissima facciata delle piccole case di Isla Mujeres,dove i colori forti sembrano essere molto apprezzati dagli abitanti e dai turisti.
Isla Mujeres è il nome di una piccola isola (nonché della cittadina situata sull'isola stessa) situata nel Mar dei Caraibi a 13 km dalla costa della parte nord-orientale della penisola di Yucatán nella parte nord est dello stato di Quintana Roo, si trova proprio di fronte a Cancún.
Isla Mujeres è uno degli otto comuni dello stato di Quintana Roo. L'isola è lunga circa 7 km e larga circa 650 m. Al censimento del 2005 aveva una popolazione di 13.315 persone, 11.147 erano gli abitanti della cittadina.
Da vedere la bella spiaggia di Playa Norte, con sabbia bianchissima, il Parco Garrafón, paradiso per gli amanti dello snorkeling e del mare, la spiaggia delle tartarughe e il caratteristico centro urbano, ricco di negozietti.
L’isola fu scoperta il 17 marzo 1517 dallo spagnolo Francisco Hernández de Córdova e deve il suo nome alle statue femminili ritrovate nei pressi del tempio dedicato alla dea della fecondità Ixchel a cui era dedicata in quanto la punta sud dell'isola è la prima parte del territorio messicano illuminata dai raggi solari al mattino.
L'isola offre anche la possibilità di vivere un'esperienza indimenticabile con i delfini.
I venti dell'isola consentono di godere di belle giornate anche quando sulla costa ci sono temporali.

Even I can understand where you got your title!

Island of Women, eh?- probably not the best place to relax - you would probably be too busy and exhausted there! Hehehehe.

This is a perfect example of "homing in" on a subject and photographing a small part of a scene and so giving a perfect impression of the whole scene as it was first seen by yourself.

Fabulous strong and minimalist composition with strong lines and diagonals and terrific vibrant and contrasting (complementary) colours, lovely lighting, perfect exposure and exquisite sharpness.
