Photographer's Note

I found my "little" buddy (photo depicts actual size) while hiking in the rainforests south of Puerta Vallarta. After narrowly avoiding wrapping him and his web around my face, I was finally able to use the macro on my camera to capture an interesting subject. I'm not big on the macro and rarely do it so any input is appreciated. After some research on the web, and finally help from Rod Crawford of the Burke Museum in Seattle Washington, I was able to give my buddy a name: Nephila Clavipes, or Golden silk spider, named so because its web can appear golden in color with certain light.
