Photographer's Note

This is a huge christmas tree in the waiting area of the Union station Chicago. It was very nostalgic to be in this station. Elliot Ness had a shoot out with Al Capones men in here. There is another stair case on the opposite side of the building to the left of this shot. It was on one of these stair cases that they had the shootout. This place is thick with history. I could almost feel the presents of days gone by. Soldiers leaving for war not knowing if they would ever see there loved ones again. Right here is where it happened. The old wooden benches are still here. For some reason it was extremely warm in this building. I think it has radiant heat (hot water in tubes under the floor). It was cool this day in Chicago so the warmth felt good for awhile and then almost uncomfortable. It was about 10:00 p.m. when I took this shot. They lowered the lights which created a very nostagic feeling. Hope you like. Thanks Rob
