Photographer's Note
Photo dedicated to hope and change.....
Chicago skyline from the observation deck at John Hancock Tower. The staff do not allow photographers to set up tripods (the story is: a little girl got her hair tangled in someones tripod, so her parents sued the building, only in America), I placed the camera on top of the air heating fixtures on the floor and against the glass. There are still some glass reflections at the upper left corner though.

This picture would have not been as good if it was completly night time. the sun setting on the top right corner is perfect.

Only the best of captures from the Chicago skyline with an excellent lens from the home location of the latest USA President. Tan I think the long view here is impressive and very well worth the viewing. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah Tan,as you said;only in America:(...
What can I say; good luck with the new one and just wait and see what will be to change: the man or the country.
As about the shot:superb quality as usual from you.Microscopic details of a huge cityscape. And you haven`t even used the tripod...
Thanks,
Nelu

Hi Tan,
I wish to shoot from this point of view, the next time I'll be in Chicago, although I have visit this great city 3 times and always have too many things to see.
But with your excellent result, it's a convincing motivation to get up there. Even without your tripod, you did what it take to achieved a perfect and sharp view. Very well-managed lights creating a fascinating urban texture.
Cheers!

Hi Tan,
Impressive amount of lights. Fine view in beautiful colors.
Yes we can do it without a tripod.

Hi Tan,
Not your most impressive image as it is impacted by the light pollution but it does have the captain's pov (and for that Chicago has a number of povs for you) and above that it fits very well to the news. Sharpness is fine considering no tripod, when I got up there in 94 it was already forbidden.
Have a nice day JY

i only had the day-view from there, so seeing this fantastic sea of light, i have to return at night sometime.
the colorful after-sunset-sky on the right is great ans i would not have noticed the reflections if you hadn´t mentioned them.
excellent job & best wishes, thor.

Wonderful photo for a hopefully different times at the US and therefore in all the world. I wish the new president to run his challenges as the sharpness your photo has.
Congratulations!

I seem to have lost touch with your wonderful pictures for a while, Tan. It is nice to find them again and to see that you are still uploading amazing images. This one look very surreal and slightly menacing, with a feel of the concrete jungle about it. It is technically perfect as ever and with a powerful, receding perspective. regards Kevin

Excellent night shot, with the lights of the city just matching the light from the sky, creating a nice balance. When I saw this I thought "a thousand points of light" but then I caught myself - wrong president said that!

Hi Tan,
good night shot, the skyline, the countless lights of the city going far away... As the french actor and writer Richard Bohringer said in a novel, "c'est beau une ville la nuit" (that's beautiful a city at night).

Tan,
this is a fantastic night shot of the city light of Chicago, appropriately chosen for the occasion. Excellent details overlooking the city of twingling light, it's sparkles with hope for a better future and change for many. I hope he can deliver what he promises. This is really a breath taking view, great composition. I feel like flying over the city.

Merhaba Tan Bey,
Yaptığınız kadrajla, ışıkların oluşturduğu neredeyse sonsuzmuş gibi algılanan derinlik hissine bayıldım.
Selamlar.
