Photographer's Note
This is a picture of the Longaberger Basket Company headquarters. It is probably one of Newark’s biggest tourist attraction. There seems to be mixed feelings about the giant basket people around here either love it or think it's a monstrosity. I for one love it. It’s a great subject for photography and it’s not something you would see everywhere.

I can't say I like the building, but the picture is good with nice colors. The least one can say is that it is original.

Wow, when I looked at the thumbnail I felt sure this had to be a bad Photoshop job - but it's actually real, scary! Personally I like the building, at least it has a distinct architectural style, unlike so many office contemporary office buildings. I like your composition, although I wish there was more of a reflection. Good use of the plants in the foreground as framing. Well captured :-D

Ah great shot Howie. This well suits the theme of TE: learning about world. i like the building, it is huge and different.
Your framing and composition is also very good.

Thanks for showing us this display of unique architecture Howie. It certainly must be a local eyecatcher.
I suppose those in the neighbourhood who see it as a monstrosity take their revenge in labelling those who work there as "a bunch of basket cases "? :-)

This in an example that demonstrates how a good photo can render whatever thing beautiful, also this architectonic monstrosity.

I saw this for the first time. I thought whether to have been composite photograph at first. It turns out that it is an actual photograph, when details are seen well. I like your interesting photograph very much!
It is very effective that the light from a left top side emphasizes a basket building.

Not only is it an unusual , thus interesting scene caught in picture, but this also is a beautifully composed picture with good saturation and sharpness. Great shot Howie.

The Mother of all baskets......I like it. I wish there were more architects wanting to create something different. You have chosen a very interesting subject. Personally I would have put it more to the right. If you have the chance to shoot it again in Summer, please do. Green trees, blue sky and a basket like this..... must be a hell of a picnic.
Well done.

Blimey! I thought this was some sort of art installation at first before I realised it was an office building. I like it! - both the photo and the building. Nicely composed, it looks like the 'basket' has just been put down on the landscape.

Good shot with the water and all. Now the world will know why they pay $100 for a basket. :-) I'm still waiting for a report of a small aircraft barnstorming the handles.

yes, you are right! It's a great subject and is something that I never seen before. And you copmosed this so well. Good low angle you chosed to take this picture. And taking the picture from such remote point - you really give us an good idea how big this basket is. Good contrast between the giant basket and the cloudy sky.

Strange building!
Looking at the building carefully reveal that’s it’s a perfectly normal one, a few minor modification to the box shape building are needed to create this basket.
TE at is best!
