Photographer's Note
The Honor Roll in the town center of Woburn, MA. The new display honors veterans who fought in every war or major conflict in the country's history, beginning with the colonial 'Indian Wars' and leading all the way up to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is beautiful monument, situated right at the heart of the town center, with Woburn City Hall behind it.

Hello Andrew,
Just about to head off to bed and I saw this and just had to critique it!
This is yet another fine lesson is strong composition, with fabulously bold lines running from both right corners off into the distance to the City Hall.
A well taken night shot in which you have managed the relatively poor light on the Honor Roll well and I think the little coloured reflections are a fine addition rather than a distraction. The light on the City hall is stunning.
Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite depth of field and sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Andrew,
With our own independence coming up, this is a wonderful image to post in honor of those who made so much possible. Despite the atrocities and political mayhem it produces, it's always good to remember those that sacrificed. Brilliant composition, a strong lead in, well balanced, and sharp detail. The starburst effect is a nice added bonus, and I like the deep contrast of black, it really makes the lit elements stand out prominently. Great result under a dark sky, well done! Take care.
Best regards from out West,
Jason

Hi Andrew,
Honor Roll, strange name. Simple but impressive monument, just showing the names and battles. But how many of them! superb night photo with good depth, very nicely composed. I like these stars on the left side.

Hello Andrew
Nice to see you are still alive and kicking!
My eye was taken with this shot right away because of the lines not only of the wall but also of the lights, at ground level and in the reflection. I have taken a few shots with similar compositional lines using highlights like you have used the lights here but they are from inside the metro stations in Barcelona. I will be posting them soon enough so you can see what I mean.
The POV is compositionally exactly the right one too given that those lines lead into the City Hall - maybe that is a political comment in itself on those who go to war.

Hello Andrew - A strong composition which shows off the geometry of the Honor Roll to advantage and leads naturally to the city hall. I like the fact that you have taken this in the evening, the ambiance works well with the subject. Warm regards Rosemary

A lot victims during the a lot wars in world, maybe for freedom, I don't know.
Almost always very young soldiers this in service of a big country.
We get a lot depth and perspective.
The darkness fits perfect to these picture.

Hi Andrew,
Congrats on this perfect consisting, you have chosen an angle that shows this fine monument off to perfection. The city hall makes a great backdrop, but for me the real winner here is the flashes of color reflecting in the monument, bringing a great element of life into a roll call for the dead. The lights on the ground add interest to the dark element and the light is handled perfectly. Really nicely done.
Cheers

Hello Andrew,
The contrasts of light and darkness, as well as the remarkably distinct depth you have achieved make this a stunning and bold composition. The two converging diagonal lines above and under the names drag my eyes with great vigour towards the City Hall. As if this wasn't enough the lamps in the ground - shining like stars further back - also lead us there. The uneven line of variously colored lights reflected in the glass (or maybe it's a very polished surface) is another fine feature.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Andrew
A perfectly framed and well exposed tribute the the veterans of the city. The diagonal framing leads the eye nicely towards the well lit town house, I think this is a truly great photograph.

Hi Andrew,
beautiful Monument and really excellent presentation of it!This time in wide-angle format and I must say it looks with photographed subject just great. Also these multicoloured reflection in the black surface of the Monument as well as the "star"effect of the lamps contribute together to the success of your composition.
Superb composition and quality of the image!

What an impressive nocturnal shot. Fantastic light management here and I love those star points lining the walkway. The perspective created by the Honour Roll is mesmerising and the architecture in the background has been captured magnificently.

Hello,
I like the idea of this shot playing with reflections on the dark stone.
Good composition with the inclusion of the lightnings and the main architectur elements.
The only thing which could have been changed is the timing: a bit too late in the night giving this dark sky. At blue hour, the balance would have been a bit better.
Yves.
