Photographer's Note
This is one of my stich & glue kayaks built from a kit.
This one is a 17ft Chesapeake hard chimed. I also have two multi-chimed boats, a 20 footer that holds three and a 17 ft. 6 in. single both kits were made by Pygmy Boats.
Stitch and Glue
Stitch and Glue kayaks are built from thin panels of plywood, cut into specific shapes, tied together temporarily with copper wire (the stitch) and then epoxied together (the glue). These boats are typically covered with a light layer of fiberglass cloth and resin on the outside, and often on the inside as well.
Because the final shape of the boat depends on the shape and number of panels used in construction, they are typically built from plans or kits rather than someone's "kitchen table" design. These boats can be finished "bright" or natural, or painted. It is quite common to see them with painted hulls and bright finished decks. Because the boat is built from plywood panels, it will have sharp chines or very noticeable "multi" chines hulls.

Hi Tom.
Fine camera angle cropping out the main sky in keeping this kayak and reflection on the water in focus. Nice sharp details with very good framing.
TFS and best regards,

Hi Tom
Its a beautiful little craft. Thanks for showing us. We only ever get to see the tip of the kayak otherwise. I like the angle you took this from and the reflections of the bare trees that offer a frame for this little glider.

Hi, Tom.
Nice and sharp, great angle and colors, and featuring some wonderful reflections. Best of everything I find the contrast, just perfect, in what might look like but certainly isn't an easy shot. Superb job! Well, still a bit foggy out here but in a couple hours the sun's gonna come out and we'll be in the mid 60F with plenty sunshine and no wind. Guess I'll catch the bus to Marken and walk the levees all the way back to Monnickendam with my 4-legged associate. Have a wonderul day y'all. See ya soon,
Fulvio.

Hello Tom,
A fine dynamic composition with good sharpness. The natural lines of the reflections make an interesting contrast with the man made lines of the kayak. Fine work in all senses of the word.

Hi Tom
bravo il est de toute beauté ce kayak on voit que tu en prends soin, c'est avec cet embarcation que tu prends de si belle photos, je n'ai jamais fait de tour dans un tel embarcation ça manque à ma culture je devrais essayé un jour, peut-être.

Hello Tom -
Interesting note. I don't know much about kayaks so this was very informative. This looks like a little early to be getting on the water in your neck of the woods. I like the reflections in the stream but the image is just a little dark to me and could use a touch of exposure or S&H adjustment.
Thank you for sharing.

Hello Tom,
Your kayak is perfectly positioned in the frame, on a diagonal line, to give a good thirds composition. In fact, all the lines are diagonal!
The reflections of the sky and the tall trees, in the water, gives an interesting view, which cannot be seen in reality.
The blue of the kayak and the sky, concentrates the colour centrally in the shot.
kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Tom
Interesting spotlights on the Kayck and nice sky reflections on the river.
You have the possibility to practice this sport in many rivers in France.
Best regards.

Hello Tom,
I like this, because the seasonal mood is captured so well!
Just after the snow is gone but before the leaves as the trees are still naked, and the blue sky reflects nicely in the stream...
A fine composition with a strong diagonal!
Greetings,
